Interesting that the Koch Brothers, superrich Republican donors, are openly flirting with supporting Clinton.
Trump is very much the insurgent candidate feared by some of the richest and most powerful elements within the American establishment.

If Clinton tells the Kochs where to get off she might be worth voting for but if she takes them on board she's just a corporate shill. Sanders for a write in!Lord Beria3 wrote:Interesting that the Koch Brothers, superrich Republican donors, are openly flirting with supporting Clinton.

The choice facing American voters is Trump, Clinton or none of the above. Which are you?
I'm for the Donald!! I don't think American society can cope with another 4 years of status quo politics... better a opportunistic populist billionaire than a ideologically extremist and polished far right American Hitler coming down the road. And I do think that if Trump doesn't get elected in 2016, by 2020, an American corn-pone Hitler will emerge from the fringes of the Republican Party.

Adolf Hitler was very clear about his proposed program in the early 1920s, a decade before he came to power. He spelled it out unmistakably in his speeches and his political testament, Mein Kampf: do away with pain-in-the-ass democracy and destroy the Jews. He couldn’t have put it more plainly. The residual admiration for Hitler among the extreme right-wingers of today derives mainly from the simple fact that the man actually did what he said he would do. You can’t overstate the potential hunger for that sort of thing. The current climate of US politics being Weimar-on-steroids, I’m sure that an American corn-pone Hitler would have huge appeal for a beaten-down citizenry.

No - Trump is a populist opportunistic showman with no ideological grounding and has at various times been a socially liberal Democrat, a centrist Republican and populist insurgent.
The American Hitler will have a consistent far right record, enjoy a base of support built up over years amongst the fringes of the Republican Party and will have the all-American charisma of a JFK.
Imagine a more populist Ted Cruz (an ideological right wing fanatic) who had the charisma of a JFK and the communication skills of Trump or Reagan. That will be America's corn-pone Hitler.

Throw in a military hero's background from the Iraq war and you have all the groundings of a successful populist/far right insurgency campaign, following Trump's template, in 2020.

I wasn't aware of that. Just found this:careful_eugene wrote:I'm surprised that anyone who posts here would vote for someone who doesn't accept that man made climate change is real.
"The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive." (Trump tweet).
That's a new one for me.
And it leaves me unable to vote for either candidate. They are both awful.
