DeSmogBlog has obtained a copy of an Obama Administration Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fracking groundwater contamination PowerPoint presentation describing a then-forthcoming study's findings in Dimock, Pa.

The PowerPoint presentation reveals a clear link between hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") for shale gas in Dimock and groundwater contamination, but was censored by the Obama Administration. Instead, the EPA issued an official desk statement in July 2012 -- in the thick of election year -- saying the water in Dimock was safe for consumption.

Or this one:

Is there anyone amazed that after millions of frack jobs spanning more than half a century, the best that can be whipped out is "gee there might be natural gas near places which produce natural gas" and such?

Why would anyone ever think there would be more natural gas in the surrounding sediment...in places....which contained natural gas in such quantities that you can drill a hole in the ground and produce it?

Huh....I wonder where I can find the study explaining THAT little problem?

Some fracking wells leak and increase well water contamination.

Most fracking wells do not leak.

Some water wells produce contaminated water even though there has never been any human fracking.

Most water wells are not contaminated.

Which is more important to you probably depends on the quality of your drinking water and on your politics.

And the laws in every state in the Union require they be repaired immediately when this happens. But leaky wells don't have much to do with fracking, unless it has been claimed that fracking is the thing which causes wells to leak?

So few that in the millions of frack jobs done in the past half century, it is unlikely that anyone has worried about it much until someone decided that once was bad enough, and repaired by the company or not, a fuss should be made.

And some make methane too.

Well, most aquifers have SOMETHING besides H20 with the chemical properties of distilled water, I suppose we have to define what contaminated means?

Not sure if I qualify, grew up in coal country, all the local farm well water had methane in it. No frackers around to blame it on back then I guess.

There was a sensible discussion on fracking on Radio 4 this morning.

That must be a first, anywhere in the MSM.

OMG I've just realised there are two Ralphs on PS. That explains my confusion.

There's one real one, RalphW, then there is a recent, almost imposter, Ralph. Emordilp suggested Ralph is RGR re-registered.

Looks like Yoko Ono doesn't actually know anything about fracking either.

Oopps.

I particularly liked the comment that included the phrase "...green's swivel eyed fictions of environmental Armageddon". Very colourful.

Crikey Biff you need a break. Ralph-without-a-double-yoo's very first post gave the game away. However, even trolls need to be given the initial benefit of the doubt.
