In reply, I say so what? Keep on voting for the option promising the most change. Play the game. Just don't be overly disappointed if little changes.

The strategy for the thinking man 8)
Except for the fact that trying to get too much to change can result in nothing changing or things that you would prefer not to change.

I take the view that concentrating on the key possible changes is the best approach.

You believe in the political process much more than me who has become jaded and cynical. So for myself, rather than take the view that it's all a load of rubbish and there's no point in voting at all as they're all the same etc, my strategy is the preferable one.

My strategy is to try to insulate myself as much as possible from the possible damage that others can do to me. So, for example, I believe that the NHS will fall to bits in my lifetime - my response is to try to lead a healthy lifestyle so I hopefully won't need the NHS. Similarly, I don't believe I'll ever get a pension so I'm not counting on it.

Hmmm........, running 3 marathons in 3 days is not what could be described as a healthy lifestyle, at least for most people. Exertion carries risks, though it may mean you don't need a pension.

Jim Hansen has been blowing this trumpet, at some particular personal cost, for a long time now and has encouraged more and more of his more timid colleauges to raise their heads a little more above the parapet.

I am trying to get through "Storms of my Grandchildren" at the moment. It is very interesting but incredibly dense and hard going.

Climate science seems one of those areas where you think you have just got your head around part of the thought infrastructure when you are presented with several "just one more things"....... and then you start wondering just how many unknown unknowns there may be still lurking out there.
