Hi
I have been reading about Peak oil and the related issues for some time now, and cannot ignore the evidence that is online, happening in the real world (economic crash etc) and my own intuition about the whole thing. As a person who takes an interest in the world, i feel quite concerned about Peak oils impact on me, people close to me, and people in general. This could be a great opportunity to move to a healthier existence, and i really think that.
I have been working hard over the past two years to become fully versed in self sufficiency, alternative health, botany and general personal development. I'm no expert, but i would like to share and exchange information with others in my area who may be concerned about peak oil and would be prepared to work with others to build resilience to any challenges that may come our way. We will have to rely on ourselves much more, which is no bad thing.
For starters, I have learnt a lot from various blogs and have found one that gives some very useful advice for surviving in the wild or under emegency conditions. I tend to be cautious rather than reckless, and it doesn't hurt to be clued up if things get rocky. One of the things i have observed when it comes to disasters, is that cities are generally not a good place to be, therefore, it pays to be good friends with mother nature.

By the way, there is a high level MP meeting some industrialists tomorrow about peak oil. It could be a significant step towards national awareness of the issue.
