Hi! All

Can you support my petition below on the No 10 website, please?
Your petition has been approved by the Number 10 web team, and
is now available on the Number 10 website at the following
address:

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/foreignbiofuels/

Your petition reads:

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to make it
illegal to burn palm oil and other foreign grown vegetable oils
in power stations.

The burning of vegetable oils in huge quantities to generate
electricity is causing the deforestation of vast tracts of rain
forest in the Far East which is releasing more Carbon Dioxide
into the atmosphere than will ever be saved by the substitution
of fossil fuels by these oils. Large numbers of people are
being driven off their land without compensation in order to
create the necessary plantations and left in poverty,
compounding the environmental damage.

Is it really a possibility?

If so, it's insane.
