Shock! Gasp! Horror!
Is it anymore than you would expect? Isn?t that the world we live in?

I find it amusing to speculate about what on earth they would make of people like me. What could they possibly tempt me into buying?(ED you're in LEEDS: a boat??)
So what's new? If you read the terms, data is collected on you even if you don't sign up. Best pack your PC up and disconnect the ADSL, really. And only ever use cash to buy stuff.
It is an odd concept, this one of collecting friends in a virtual world.
Welcome to the 21st century!
I use facebook to keep in contact with friends I have made over the years as I have moved around. Also to organise to keep in touch will family as I don?t get to go back to the UK as much as I would like.
I liked the comment that said, "what's wrong with the local pub?". Apart from it being too far away from my extended family and old friends? Plus it's not as if I spend all day or night on Facebook purely for social interaction - or that it's the only socialising I do - that's mistaking what these sites are about.
I have deactivated my account. I must admit that although it was partly the Guardian article which put me off, mainly I couldn't really see the point of it, for me anyway. Plus I've got PowerSwitch, what more cyber-wise could I want for!!

My wife always says that if everyone was like us the economy would collapse! It?s a good job we have people with more money than sense to keep things going!
