This could prove tricky. I've had an article in the local paper already, but they didn't put my contact details in. Oh well, at least it's in people's minds.
And today I've put a flyer in the library with a "Are you ready for Peak Oil"? sort of message. The librarian laughed when he saw what I was asking him to put up. We shall see what happens.
I just get the sense it is going to be a hard job round here. Any advice/guidance would be appreciated!

Maybe you shouldn't go straight for "peak oil" (which most people have never heard of). Headline the flyer "Have you wondered why oil is so expensive?" and see what you get.

By the way, I've just spent a couple of hours looking around the WolfAtTheDoor site. It's superb.

My experience of living up here is that there are quite a few clued up people involved with things like the local Freecycle groups in Middlesbrough, Redcar etc and local branches of environmental groups. People are here Jimmy, but they are probably keeping their heads down. Which town are we talking about - if you don't mind me asking?

Just thought has your town got a Post Office and is it On The Hitlizt? I was at a press-call outside ours (which is on the hitlist, even though it was mentioned as a 'facility' for the 700 new houses that've just got planning permission... ) I was one of the first to turn up and got interviewed for the local radio, at which point of course I talked about the need to ReLocalise because "fuel and energy are never going to get any cheaper because all the easy-to-mine stuff has gone..."
Should go out tomorrow morning for all the commuters to hear on their car-radios! My boss is going to love it
