Recent cold weather, followed by storms.

I hope that members, together with friends and family are ok. The cold was severe and closely followed by damaging wind storms.
More storms are forecast though not as severe.
Not bad here at adam2 towers, a few short power cuts and delayed supermarket deliveries, but nothing serious.

How did others fare ? severe weather preps adequate or found wanting ?

No problems down here. However, the battery in the central heating thermostatic control died and the heating stayed off through the two coldest days whilst the house was unoccupied. It was down to 7c by the time it was discovered.

A couple days to snow closed our lane to all but tractors and brave 4x4 with snow tyres... Whiplash from -4° to +12° in 36hrs. Peak gusts ~65mph are of no real concern.
