Are POers on this forum able to switch off from PO? If so what do you do to relax and forget about all this impending doom?

Five months of hell ahead. As soon as I get up on the motorcycle life gets easier again.

Heavy drinking works best

Nothing like a mad dog and a nice long empty beach (now that the grockles have gone home)

Drinking and physics degree, no time to think when you're studying and certainly not worrying about the world's ills when I'm drinking.
Oh, and physical activity, although if you run maybe you want some music to distract you from your wandering thoughts.

Loud banging psychedelic dance music, beer and bacon butties - not necessarily in that order.

LOL - There's cerainly a patter which involves 'beer'. My personal fave out of the ones so far is the one with the 'mad dog and an empty beach' I love taking my dogs to the beach too especially when they are quiet - only I live quite far from the beach so it's only a few times a year.

At the risk of sounding like a Hippy, I find that sitting very still in the woods, with the birds starting to chirp all around and the wind gently moving the leaves is very relaxing. I sometimes have a snooze sitting against a tree and wake up feeling really happy.

Same here, being in the woods. Though I include some tree felling along with sitting listening to the birds!

Beer, music, chopping/cutting firewood, walking/hiking up hills/mountains. Must try the sitting in the wood thing - sounds delightfull.

Mountain biking with my mates if I can ever find the time again.
I love playing my guitar in my band too. I forget I exist sometimes when the chords are sounding good....
Beer is obviously a good thing, as is the pub.

It's Dark Age living history and battle re enactment for me!
The living history bit means no phones, computers, tv etc - just friends and family round the campfire (plus learning some interesting / useful craft skills) while the battle re enactment with blunt but otherwise realistic weapons burns off all my doomer angst

'Walking the bounds' of our small bit of land - ostensibly to check the fence line - is quite relaxing.

I was going to say gardening, chopping logs etc etc, but I thought that's all totally PO related stuff!!
