JAJJAL VILLAGE, INDIA—Four decades after the so-called Green Revolution enabled this vast nation to feed itself, some farmers are turning their backs on modern agricultural methods—the use of modified seeds, fertilizer, and pesticides—in favor of organic farming.

Interesting story although it seems to highlight overuse of fertilizers & pesticides.

Nope. It's really just a scam that keeps farmers in debt, enslaved to giant companies for their basic needs, all the while depleting their soil and producing nutritionally impoverished food.

If its any consolation there's now something of a backlash: successful transitions "back" to fertiliser-free farming (that's enough f's _ed) were covered in New Internationalist a few months back. People started to notice they were no longer in debt or covered in sores. Just their physical appearence made quite a good advert for the whole idea so they've now hit the road taking the idea round the country.

Shame so many millions have had to go through the lies and the sores and the debt to realise something so obvious...
