North and South (of UK)
Following on from a point made by Biff about natural locations for towns and cities:
The UK (England Scotland Wales N.Ireland) has roughly the same number of people North and South of a line drawn between the Bristol Channel and the Humber. Will it be those North, or South, of this imaginary line who on the whole fare better (or at least, less badly)?

Oooo...I'm just south of the Humber but identify much more with the North. No idea which way to vote though.RenewableCandy wrote:a line drawn between the Bristol Channel and the Humber.
No they're not.Vortex wrote:I voted South because Southerners are tough mean barstewards.

In reality Dumfries is the Deep South. Those of us accustomed to the Arctic Mistral will do just fine [with a little Passport Kontrol ]
Give me a place to stand on and I will move the Earth.

The south will win because it's nearer the equator.
And we've got Devon. And you haven't.

The thought crossed my mind as I was writing it. If you feel you're a Northerner, then you are one.biffvernon wrote:Oooo...I'm just south of the Humber but identify much more with the North. Yup Devon's great. But there's an awful lot of the South that isn't Devon...
