It might pay to improve home security before the economic problems hit.

Found this site:

http://www.safeoptions.co.uk/

I'm looking at a nice security cupboard which can be bolted to the floor/wall, to store my air gun/crossbow/any other valuables which I don't want burglars to get at.

Why not a steel gun cabinet?

That's actually what I was looking for when I found this site. I don't have a rifle though, so unless I get one (which might be overkill considering what I already have) or a rocket launcher or similar, I don't need a very big cabinet.

I was looking at this one, which should be big enough for what I have plus ammo plus whatever else:

If possible bolt it to the floor and the wall. Under the stairs is a good place if you have a space there. Bedroom is usually the first place they look.
I used to bolt my pistol safe inside a kitchen cupboard. Never had enough food to hide it behind

It will be somewhere secure.

Put it like this - if someone can get into it, they probably won't need what's inside it.

Hmmm, can't help thinking that in a bad world it will be safer not to own anything others want.

But how will 'they' know you don't own anything that they want?

I've seen poor people robbed of their only possessions, blankets and pots. If you're naked and have nothing I don't think anybody will trouble you, unless you have a nice arse...

Your arse doesn't have to be nice. It's about power and control.

Thanks that kind of thought would never occur to me.
