Age of Powerswitchers?

I wonder are we all of a certain age.... or are we pulled from a wide spectrum of ages?????
ETA I'm 43!
And have been realistically doomerish since I was told in a geography lesson aged 14 that oil would only last another 80years at the current rate of use. Even I could see that we'd use more as the population exploded - also taught in Geography. Hmmmm....

I wonder if the doomers are generally younger than the rest. Seems that way sometimes.

What interests me more than age is what brought us here to this forum. Myself, I kind of stumbled here intuitively rather than any clever analysis of the situation.

It's funny you can stumble on lots of different sites.... but you stay where you find people who are discussing things that you can relate to.
If I'd not been thinking this way already, I could have stumbled upon this site, but left it quickly. Instead I found material that interested me. So I'm still here.
Not sure how easy that would be to put into a poll however!

).

29 as well and becoming increasingly doomtastic. Maybe it's the impending 30th, becoming a father and the looming onset of middle age. I'm not that hopeful for the future anymore quite frankly.

37, and the doom comes and goes.

The last time I looked at the label I was 54 and retired.
For my sins, I 'discovered' PO about a year ago and having read a few books by Colin Campbell, Richard Heinberg, etc., decided to go in search of a suitable UK web site.
I have learned a lot about our PO and GW predicament from these threads and like many other contributors, I am trying to implement some of the post PO preparations ahead of the inevitable Powerdown.

39 and my wife thinks that my interest in oil is my mid-life crisis, I respectfully point out that peak oil is every ones crisis. It could be worse, at least I'm not buying a sports car / getting a tatoo / wearing teenage style clothes and trying to flirt with women half my age (when sober).

Seems to be a common age, but 29 as well. Largely a doomer, but of the 'everything will steadily get worse' variety rather than the sudden collapse of society.
The anthropik network scares me - kind of reminds me of the "Straw Men" if we have any Michael Marshall Smith fans on the forum.

39 and an optimist, as long as you embrace the concept of energy depletion you have the power to change your future. The next 30 years are gong to be more eventful and exciting than the last.

36 years young and wavering between doomer and total optomist.
I thing there's going to be a tough wake up for some, but I think resulting societies could be truly beautiful. If the governments of the world manage not to blow us all up before hand.
