Many people here will know, at least virtually, my Dad, biffvernon. Sadly he passed away this weekend, at home, peacefully with family. He touched a lot of people through his environmentalism, artwork, activism and writing. He was also the most amazing, kind, patient and supportive father imaginable.

Despite not posting here since 2016, he is still the forum's most prolific poster with 18,538 contributions.

So sorry to hear that, best wishes to his family at this time.

also thoughts and sympathy from me. All too common when you get to my age to hear of friends, family or acquaintances who have lost family. Third one for me this week. We are thinking of bulk buying sympathy cards.

I'm sorry to hear this. I always thought of Biffvernon as a contributor of strong moral and community values and felt that the abuse he suffered here for pursuing ideals was shameful.

His posts put me on to David Fleming’s work, which l’m grateful for.

I seem to recall that Biff was the first person to respond to my very first post on this forum. I may not have fully agreed with everything that he said but respected his knowledge and commitment. I didn't realise he was Chris's father but sorry for your loss.

I have just come across this sad news.

Obviously, thoughts are with his family.
Although I never met him, I can honestly say he is one of the few people who have changed the way I think about certain things. Principally, energy.

After long discussions online, he changed my opinion about our energy future from being a drill baby drill, more capacity installed the better, use the fossil fuels until they are gone, to a local is good, micro generation has multiple benefits, and keep the fossils fuels in the ground if at all possible.

His input is sadly missed.

I do pop in now and again, although I don't post, this forum is still my first stop for anything energy related.

Keep posting.
