Ali Express validation slider .. is in Chinese!

Post by Vortex2 »

Hi.

I want to order a cheap geiger counter via Ali Express .. but it requires me to 'validate' via some sort of weird slider.
(A captcha alternative?)

Any ideas how to use this thing?

Thanks.

UPDATE:

The Ali Express site is dodgy ... you click on a product and a DIFFERENT but similar product appears in the Shopping Basket.
Also some products add tax and shipping whilst others don't.

I'll stick with the same thing but from Amerzone UK.
At least I can get a refund if required.

Ali Express is fine , but you do need to get used to its quirks. Like the dodgy river site over here, it is a marketplace for many sellers rather than one seller.
A common "trick" is the clickbate of low pricing for an item (just like ebay) where you might be buying say the adapter or stand rather than the actual item, when adding to your basket pay attention to the thumb nails on the right hand side as what is highlighted here is what you are adding to your basket , which may or may not be the same as the main picture on the left. I had a parcel from Ali Express arrive on the 3/12/22 (via Royal Mail) that contained 20 small parcels, rather than them all being sent separately (as used to be the case).

Not had to use a slider just the normal click on pictures that contain say a car.

Some of the prices are very reasonable , you just need to use care.
