I have received yet another 'invitation' from my GP for the next COVID jab.
I'm getting tired of this.
Are YOU continuing with the boosters?
Will you continue with COVID jabs?

No. I am also increasingly opposed to wasting public money providing jabs for the majority of the population.

Re: Will you continue with COVID jabs?
Covid is the sixth biggest cause of death in the uk this summer. It is still putting a big strain on the NHS. The booster is being offered to everyone over 50 (I think). A lot of older people will take up the vaccine because they know people who died of covid or were seriously ill, and it will be just another jab like the flu vaccine. I do not know how much extra protection it will give, or for how long, against the current BA5 variant or whatever follows it, ultimately it is about reducing winter stress on the nhs than about the risks of any individual dying if they don’t get it. It is, as with the annual flu vaccine a fair amount of guesswork. The evidence is quite clear that the vaccine is less harmful than catching covid, so for most people the cost benefit analysis is clear, and for many others the benefit to the NHS is still considered worth any remote risk of harm from the vaccine.
I will be taking it, if for no other reason than to protect the mental health of my daughter, who was so terrified of covid she was reduced to attempting suicide because she couldn’t imagine ever leaving the house again. (Covid was the final straw for her mental health, not the primary cause of her problems)

Re: Will you continue with COVID jabs?
Our GP service has quite literally disappeared.
I mean, the building is still there, as indeed are the people - like 4 (four) receptionists and some alleged doctors and nurses.
But if, heaven help you, you go in to try and book an appointment, they won't take a booking and tell you to go home & do it all online.
Marvellous other 1/2 had to do this recently, for our Ukrainian.
The system doesn't create appointments, just says someone will get back to us.
Which they did, by phone, about 10 days later.
Apparently the non-C19 death rate has shot up and I can see why. That mystery gutsache which would normally have you going to the GP may now be ignored b/c it doesn't hurt enough to merit A&E - and then it turns out to be serious...
