I have long felt that the world in general, and the UK in particular is ill prepared for a pandemic.

Large stocks of medical consumables are clearly needed, at or near the point of use to minimise vulnerabilities to transport breakdowns.

A secure high temperature incinerator should be available ON SITE for burning contaminated waste, and should be able to cremate bodies if required, without the hazards of transport to a distant facility.

Some types of clothing and linen can be laundered even in high risk situations, this suggests to me that industrial laundry machines are needed ON SITE, and preferably machines that have been modified so that ONLY a boil wash is available.

Chlorine bleach and other sterilising materials are needed, bulk supplies are best kept not within a medical facility but in a detached store that is within walking distance.

And finally, very large supplies indeed of morphine or other suitable drugs for humane euthanasia of hopeless cases.
Euthanasia is illegal at present, but medical facilities should IMHO hold stocks in case extreme circumstances lead to either a change in the law, or to an acceptance that the law has to be broken.

I read David Quammen's 'Ebola' and 'Spillover' back in 2014. There seems an inevitability in both the pandemic and our inability to mitigate the impacts.

Sobering? Definitely a story though. 11,000 people killed in the 2014 ebola epidemic, but where did the outreak come from. There are many of the MSM with the usual very similar stories, but I will always look for something else. Then of course I get flack from some who are either right, or don’t want anything upsetting their fragile model.

So this will raise hackles

Producing fear, one way or another, is a standard element in exerting top-down control over the population. When people are afraid, they’re compliant, they’re obedient to authority.

And that’s the agenda.

In areas of the world where severe malnutrition, starvation, lack of basic sanitation, contaminated water, overcrowding, heavy pollution are present, people fall ill and die routinely.

These conditions destroy the immune system—and then any germ that sweeps through the area causes illness and death, because body’s defenses are shot. That’s the real problem.
