There's probably a circuit or line of code in the system somewhere to prevent them being launched without US approval so that they can't be used to defend us against attack by US corporate run government. They are probably equally as dangerous to us as Russia.

Anyone with an interest in this really should read Eric Schlosser's Command and Control.

What is more scary, is that there is probably a circuit/line of code that allows launch without *our* approval.
