Russia Warns Obama: Global War Over “Bee Apocalypse” Coming

Post by JohnB »

The shocking minutes relating to President Putin’s meeting this past week with US Secretary of State John Kerry reveal the Russian leaders “extreme outrage” over the Obama regimes continued protection of global seed and plant bio-genetic giants Syngenta and Monsanto in the face of a growing “bee apocalypse” that the Kremlin warns “will most certainly” lead to world war.

There must be an easier way to stop Syngenta and Monsanto than declaring war on America. Anyway, Syngenta is a UK/Swiss company.

Tempting, though, isn't it?

It is a war, though, with might beating right.

We had all thought wars were fought over political influence and key resources such as oil- now it's about bees and GM food?

Well, I suppose it's hardly that surprising, given food is probably the most 'key' thing of all. Not much good worrying about oil to power mechanised farming if we can't pollinate the plants to grow the food...

A single corn kernel coated with a neonicotinoid can kill a songbird,” Palmer said. “Even a tiny grain of wheat or canola treated with the oldest neonicotinoid — called imidacloprid — can fatally poison a bird. And as little as 1/10th of a neonicotinoid-coated corn seed per day during egg-laying season is all that is needed to affect reproduction.”
Just what's needed. When landowners cotton on to this in that it can affect the pheasants they are breeding to shoot, maybe they will think of another way. (I can dream can't I?)

Does Cameron care? No. Does Osborne care? No. Does that Berkshire landowning environment minister who tried to have the buzzards bumped off care? Of course not. Nothing will be done before something happens.

Reminds me of a quote I saw off the LATOC forums (in the good old days)

When nothing happens for a long time people start to believe that nothing ever happens, but sooner or later something always happens

No idea who it should be attributed to.

I think we need an event to highlight the issues.

Oh look, I happen to have just organised one.

I suggest Syngenta, Bayer, Monsanto, Arysta, Dow, Nufarm, Sumitomo, BASF, DuPont, Makhteshim Agan (especially Makhteshim Agan) and all similar criminal gangs be closed down and their employees all be redeployed, hand-pollinating plants.

A war would be caused by food shortages and countries like China muscling in, by high price cash buying, on the "traditional" suppliers to the western countries.
