Peak Oil on Al Jazeera

Hi All - been lurking a lot lately so haven't posted for ages.
Al Jazeera is covering peak oil at this very moment. It stated figures from the IEA that 50% of conventional oil has already been consumed. The segment is called 'Counting The Cost'.
Looks like the media is starting to let the cat slowly out of the bag.....
They are also talking about alternatives such as methane hydrates etc....
