In it, he predicted, not the exact date of the apocalypse, but the U.S. researchers showed by means of computational models, that by mid-century, the resources of planet Earth will be depleted.

Meadows: China, Sweden, Germany, Russia, the United States all have different social systems, but in each country rising CO2 emissions, because the people really don’t care.

Meadows is an American. The interview was in Vienna. I bet he flew there in the process helping to pollute the planet just that teeny tiny bit more.
