Can only end badly. Interesting to see what happens though, because Greece has become a test case for what is likely to happen elsewhere in Europe as the screws tighten.

They have mercenary armys blackwater , a police they can't trust to stay loyal, people machine gunning political offices and a army that says it wont get involved .
Not good, military rule would be better than factions fighting out on whose to rule

What I think that that the Greek army mean is that "we wont get innvolved YET"
They probably want rather more severe disorder before they can justify taking power. If things get bad enough the people might welcome a military takeover, but not yet.

Yep
If the people take over in a clean and relatively bloodless way and restore some semblance of democracy, the army is indicating it likely wont wish to play any significant part in that. On the other hand, if the place descends into full-on, factional civil war then the army, whether its top brass like it or not, will be forced to pick sides.
