I can add a chatroom to the PowerSwitch site. Who would be interested in that?

Are there any drawbacks?

Sure, why not? There aren't a lot of people here, though. It might be an idea to set certain times or certain topics during the week, so there's more chance of logging in when another person is there.

I agree with greenbean - this could be very useful for the odd timetabled "nationwide address", for example if we could get hold of a known speaker on Peak Oil. Between us all, the information we dig up is more condusive to being in a forum than in a chat room.

In other words, what do you see as being the purpose of a chatroom?

without structure and agenda it sounds like a bit of free-for-all with lots of very big gaps in it !!

having said that, I think we should give it a try

you should always be prepared to try new things, in Peak Oil as in life...

I think the idea of scheduled chat-room is very good, especially if a transcript of what is said can be available for others to go through when they get a chance.
