The widget estimates the time left to peak oil within +- 5 days. The algorithm behind the Peak Oil Widget is unique in the way that it utilizes a time-stepping approach with a second order Beafvert hyperbola in order to accurately approximate the Hubbert curve.

It's nothing special. The program even approximates the Hubbert Curve rather than creating the curve itself. My Hubbert Curves aren't approximations.
