Peak Oil software: Sokath

Post by Comp_Lex »

Hello people,

I've created a piece of software that can generate Hubbert Curves. You can download it from here:

http://sokath.sourceforge.net/

Regards,

Alexander

PS to Mods: I hope I'm allowed to do this on this board. The PO.com forum mods are deleting my topics.

hi Comp_lex

your program is pretty cool, what language / libraries did you use to produce it ?

i too am a bit of a computer / data / chart geek ..

i have a website called

http://www.globalbaserates.co.uk/

where there are lots of finance graphs

i'm also a big fan of this website

http://www.houseprices.uk.net/

the only bit of constructive criticism i would offer is that you could put a bit more background / explanation regarding:

a. the data sources of the graphs
b. the assumptions on which the projections are based

also the legend could be a bit more prominent

keep up the good work

Joe

I'm developing my software with C++, wxWidgets, GCC and Code::Blocks, a crossplatform C++ IDE. You can expect a new version soon. I've fixed a bug and the program will come with a user manual.

Hello,

I've uploaded a new version of my software to my site.

New features:

* Hubbert Curves for Colombia, Russia and UK added

* Implementation of Dr. Laherèrre's Multi-Cycle Hubbert Linearization (This means you can make multiple Hubbert Curves for an oil-producing region and you can let the program somehow merge them together to form a single curve. This is a highly experimental method and it only works for the UK, so you have to disable all other countries in the "Set Regions and Legend Dialog".)
