Some people are obsessed with class and desperate to claim "working class" credibility. I'm not one of them.

I suppose "class-confused" might be accurate - I never really understood it all.

I found an online test:

So now I know, "Technical Middle Class".

I broke the system. It thinks I am young and from a working class background, but affluent and upwardly mobile. Erm...nope.

The test says I'm "established middle class". I can't argue with that but I think all it took was me owning my home that was worth more the a pittance.
The American dream is a classless society where everyone is a "Mister" with even the President being addressed as Mr. President. But of course actual wealth divides us almost as sharply as traditional UK classes once did.

According to that I am traditional working class, presumably because I currently have low income but own my own property. Last time I ran it, I was technical middle class.

Ha!

I'm elite.

Sorry, can't hang round with you lot anymore.

I have my class status to protect.

Does this mean I don't have to plant my winter brassicas today?

Now that the pecking order is reestablished let us return to the subject which is the Corona virus. The seven day average of daily deaths in the UK has declined to 132 per day.
If you go to worldometers.inf and sort countries by total deaths per million population the UK comes in fourth at 627/M well ahead of the ninth place USA at 369/M.
I expect the USA will catch up to you eventually with the difference being mostly the head start you endured.

I had quite a chuckle as I'm Traditional Working Class. Being a land owner, as some of my left wing friends call me, I was very surprised by this classification. As Ralph said, I own my own home, although it is valued at over the top £500k band because of the area we are living in, and have a low income. As a farmer/smallholder I do a lot of manual work as do many upper class farmers. I don't however listen to opera although I do listen to some jazz and go to the theatre, or I did until covod-19 came along.

And there we segway neatly back into the original thread.

Does listening to contestants on BGT sing opera count? :)

Another illegal street party, without any question of social distancing.
Only made the news because two people were shot presumably in connection with the party.

No police action regarding the party.
