£675 more than the majority of your fellow citizens get on retirement. And it's gold plated. When hyperinflation kicks in...you'll be minted. Whilst most private pensions will be worthless.

I was thinking more of the Whitehall first division lot.

Poor old Dom has pissed off the establishment by:

Brexit. None of the above mentioned failures ever thought we would vote to leave.

Civil service. Shinning a light onto their gold plated pension and useless delivery of government.

Journalists. Refusing to play the Westminster game of dinners, secret briefings, payment to talking heads.

Well done Dom. Read his blog. Quite the modern day disrupter.

That's why the nose in the trough brigade hate him.
Yep, agreed.

You forgot the 46p... When hyperinflation kicks in, the indexing will fall apart and that's about what it'll be worth. Zimbabwe and Rhodesian CS pensions comes to mind. I'm fully expecting the uprating to be diluted soon enough. Hopefully by salami slicing from the top down.

When I left, (2010) I was in the top 20% of my Dept by grade distribution, having worked up from the bottom of the pyramid. . The folks now stuck with working with the Truth Twisters these days have a 'career average' offering and pay a much higher contribution for less, and less probability of ultimately getting any value from that.

I thank you for the time saved in my idle retirement - wasting it away, reading unfinished Dune.

Will I be OK with starting on the late great Terry Pratchett's canon?

The critics don't give a damn about what he did. His is just another political scalp to claim in both the Opposition and Media camps. The fact that his is such a hated scalp means that they will go to the ends of the earth to get it. Bunch of hypocrites, the lot of them.

Never read terry Pratchett, never liked the look of them. Give them a go I say; more waste, less haste.

I see the Bishops have had to stop the covering up of child abuse for a few minutes to put out a statement on Dom's morality. Also, the new despotism of the office of Chief Consatble, has taken a break from drone shaming dog walkers and easter egg buying to comment on the shocking awfulness of driving to Durham.

So is it OK to break the law if you have earned enough "Social Credits" ?

Or, is it only OK to break the law if you wrote it ?

I didn't understand the scales of justice before, money and power on one side, punishment on the other.

Gov guidance on lockdown was so clear that even the man who wrote it didn't understand it ?

Or is it a case of laws being for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools.

You don't know where he went.

Re: "What law", in my world if the police have the power to fine me for something then it's against the law. You can mince words if you like but you know what I mean.
