So, what do you want ?
A return to life exactly as it existed in January ?
-nope. We can't go back to how it was even if we wanted to
Or just for your own personal economic prosperity to be restored ? - that's quite a nasty personal dig. Clearly I want all old people to die and for the NHS to be utterly crippled.
No personal insult intended - I don't know you
Many people do think like that though - just give me back my job, the pub, and the footy, and that's a perfectly valid position
You didn't like the idea of a low carbon transition - that's fine
What do you want to see happen ?

I don't have any view as to what I want to see happen because I have no control over what will happen. I just have to prepare myself to weather whatever storms the future brings. I am not at all optimistic.

That's very fatalistic.
To a certain extent you have control over your own situation and can stack the odds in your favour.
If you can't see your career/job returning to normal anytime soon, then better to make some changes, rather than just hunkering down and hoping for better times ?

I am not fatalistic and am very familiar with the concept of locus of control. I suspected that the wheel would fall off the bus so my own decisions have been to
Live a low cost lifestyle
Have no debt
Have reserves of £, precious metals and food
Be in good health and physically fit
Be in good mental health
I control what I can control but don't see any point speculating about what I can't control. However, I do follow what is going on in the world so that hopefully I can make decisions which aid my long term survival.

A pretty sensible approach IMO and broadly how I've been tackling life in recent times. Final stage will be to transition from our current house into a more rural spot with a good garden etc. Getting it sold before TSHTF is the next challenge. We will be the classic 'motivated' seller!

No such luck here.
Ineligible? Delayed?
BTW are these payments one-offs or monthly?
A one off under the current bill but another bill is in the works and if the lock downs get extended past May first will probably come at least once more.
