Carter is a member of the Institute of Public Affairs.

Video kept crashing when I was watching so not sure if he mentioned this. If he didn't or did and didn't explain it properly then I think we can move on and waste some time on someone slightly disinterested.

He certainly makes no mention of it on his personal webpage. Go figure.

I also found this article form The Australian he wrote in 2006 in response to the Stern Report.
Bob Carter wrote:Though it will be lionised for a while yet, the Stern review is destined to join Paul Ehrlich's The Population Bomb and think tank the Club of Rome's manifesto, Limits to Growth, in the pantheon of big banana scares that proved to be unfounded.
Well, there goes his credibility as far as I'm concerned.

Bob Carter gave a seminar to a bunch of earth scientists (including some with an interest in paleoclimates) at a local uni (I have a friend there). I'm told it was more of a lobbyists-style presentation than a scientific seminar and didn't go down well with the assembled boffins some of whom knew a fair bit about areas he touched on.

His only current academic position is an adjunct position which is an honorary/unpaid type of thing, and although he was once active in the area of micro-climates and paleoclimate, these days he seems to be devoting himself more to lobbying, often for an Aussie right-wing think tank called the Institute of Public Affairs and also for similar outfits in the US and various astroturf organisations.
