No problem.

Once you have made 100 posts you will be sent your tastefully monogrammed PowerSwitch body bag.
Not so.
Powerswitch body bags are no longer available having all been requisitioned by HM government. :)

Oh poo ...

OK, I'll get Mrs Vortex to knot a fancy replacement out of bailer twine.

The monogram can be made from the foil wrapper of a chocolate bar.

I still have a John Bull printing set from 1965 which I can use for the embossing.

Sorted!

Aww - I was hoping to go out in style!

I'm day 6 into covid now. Average timeline suggests increasing shortness of breath (check) and, unless I recover, I can look forward to some serious shit in the immediate future. I've written some last letters in case things go badly.

I really did think that I'd shaken it off.

I'll just have to see how it goes.

Good luck all!

Mind if I ask how old you are and whether you have any relevant health issues?

I wouldn't give in to mucus. This stuff is back in poundstretchers etc:

If they are shut - talk to the makers, Bells. This stuff will scrape the rust off a North sea oil rig. Take it with a paracetamol and you will sleep like a newborn.

56, slim, smoker for life but switched to nic lozenges a few years ago. Probably best described as 'fairly heavy drinker'.

For what its worth: I've found a one a day antihistamine stopped the cough, 1 paracetamol every 2 hours helps with the chills and sweats, ventolin inhaler is useful, and ibuprofen really helps the breathing.

Whiskey makes everything seem fine until it isn't.

Hope that helps.

Just seen the latest HMG update.

'Gold commanders' in each region with military liaison now active.

We are essentially on a war footing.

Pensions:

I cashed in all my pensions last year to pay for the construction of our eco house.

I was a bit upset about being left without a decent pension ... but will the current/coming financial situation mean that I won't be alone?

I still can't see a way out of this other than, possibly involuntary, herd immunity.

I can't see any way back to BAU either.

I can't see any way 'lockdown' can last once we're all hungry.

I really want to live long enough to see what happens!

It's a plausible, realistic scenario, if nothing goes seriously wrong. I wonder what the likelihood something going seriously wrong is?
I give it two chances out of three.
