Lacy underwear less important than Physics!? Now I've heard it all

I agree we spend lots of money on rubbish, and I have nothing against scientific research and funding, I just happen to think that in this instance the money is misplaced. Further more the energy that will be used to power this thing is misplaced.

I can think of alot more immediately relevant projects that I would like to see that money and electricity being used for.

For every complex problem, there is a simple answer, and it's wrong.

I don't see PO as a black swan event, but more as something lurking in the dark. We know its there, we can sense its presence and we can hear its minor movements yet we won't know what it really is until it decides to finally emerge from the dark and fully reveal itself. We can guess and prepare for what will await us as much as we like, nobody knows for sure what will actually happen until it finally occurs.
