I remember an article by Pat Kennet concerning haulage in Brazil and he mentioned use of alcohol as fuel . Apparently it was only any use in petrol engines and the country was reliant on imports of diesel for their lorries. When the first wells were opened in Brazil they were producing light crude more suitable for petrol than diesel so the Brazilians simply mixed crude petrol with the diesel making it about the only country with inflammable diesel.
Back to the original question , we only have a passing interest in the football so our direct impact won't amount to much although my wife has sold a box of World Cup merchandise ( or is that cheap Chinese tat?) so after it's trip half way round the world we've added a few more miles to the tally

We are the praahd owners of an England deckchair bought for some derisory sum of small change when England got knocked out last time round :)

We've watched 2 matches: England-Italy, and Spain-NL. Given that we'd otherwise have been wittering away on computers at those times, we've burned no extra energy at all :)
