If neither the First World War or the Second World War led to starvation in the UK, why would a minor conflict in a bankrupt third world banana republic?

Iran can no more shut down middle eastern oil than I can.
Every ship in NATO (and most of them out of it) with an anti missile system will be parked in those straights if thats what it takes to protect the tankers.

Iran tried to shut the straights during the Iran-Iraq war, it failed.
