You have to a have a vision, to set the goals you wish to achieve.
Then you can determine the strategy and plan the actions that will achieve the goals that form the vision.

The words "sustainable" and "growth" should never be allowed to sit next to each other in a sentence. Growth by definition is unsustainable.Andy Hunt wrote:There's something not quite right about the phrase, "a return to sustainable growth".
If it was sustainable before, why is there now a need to return to it?

I don't think it's that simple. A new business needs to grow, or it will never come into existence, and there need to be new businesses to replace ones that die, and to provide new and different goods and services. It's businesses that don't know when to stop growing that are the problem. Sustainable growth is followed by decline, death and rebirth.

WABOW.the deluded souls who put together The Notional Recovery Plan wrote:This Plan provides a blueprint for a return to sustainable growth in our economy. It sets out in detail the measures that will be taken to put our public finances in order. It identifies the areas of economic activity which will provide growth and employment in the next phase of our economic development. It specifies the reforms the Government will implement to accelerate growth in those key sectors.

Also, this is the only mention of financial regulation:
That's where we've gone wrong in the first place.Continue the modernisation of financial regulation according to best international practice.

It is being dammed with faint praise as being "well written" and they would seem to have not put a single apostrophe in the wrong place.
The Potugese have just got to the point of denying that they are being applied for a bailout. I trust "Chopper" and Co will find the climate more agreeable in Lisboa when they fly off there next week.

Downgrade of Ireland’s Credit Rating Makes Euro Weaker
I think when the Irish populace get to grips with the doo doo that their govt and banks have put them in (sometime over the next 5 years) they will exit the Euro and default.
I can even see them leaving the EU.
Not a huge surprise really but not good news for those interest rates on government debt. The euro dropped today as the European sovereign-debt crisis continues undermine the confidence in Europe’s economy and after Ireland’s credit rating was downgraded.
The Dollar Index, which tracks the US currency versus the currencies of six biggest US trading partners, rose 0.1 percent to 80.099. Fitch downgraded yesterday Ireland’s credit rating from A+ to BBB+. The President of the European Central Bank Jean-Claude Trichet and the ECB Governing Council member Miguel Angel Fernandez Ordonez will speak to reporters in Madrid today.
Fitch stated:
The downgrade reflects the additional fiscal costs of restructuring and supporting the banking system. Ireland’s sovereign credit profile is no longer consistent with a high investment grade rating.

That's it - people haven't got the full picture yet. They're a bit bewildered, tbh. They have not been allowed to understand; meantime, the government blunders on with its un-mandated agenda, though unexpectedly a vote has been forced (next Wednesday) on the stitch-up.Cabrone wrote:I think when the Irish populace get to grips with the doo doo that their govt and banks have put them in
