Sometimes I just want to grab someone, haul them over to a char, sit them down and give them a stack of material to read about PO. then I would stand over them with a shotgun until they had read each and every page.
This morning I got in to work. I work as a network techie. No sooner had I put bum to seat than the other tech was gleefully telling me about the gaming machine he's just spend the better part of a grand on; how it has two graphics cards, quad core processor, huge hard disk, etc.
"Are you nuts?" I asked him. "What did you go and blow a grand on that for?"
"So I can play Chaos," he said gleefully...
I also run my own part time IT business, doing home repairs and such (while I can). I've got another customer on Friday who's just spent ?1100 on this machine he wants me to network...so he can play Chaos.
I've just about managed to refrain from telling either of them that in a few short months they'll have all the chaos they can handle, with or without a PC. I'll be sticking to my chicken coop.
Ignorance is bliss
Crazy colleague, crazy customers

wierd isn't it ~ at the beginning of the week a colleague was asking my advice on where to dig her garden up to plant vegetables , the next day she's telling me how she just spent ?1300 booking flights for a ski-ing holiday next year ~ she would have cancelled but felt she couldn't let her friends down.
Now thats just plain sad!

Nowt wrong with wanting to go on a skiing holiday- may as well enjoy ourselves while we can. Spending stupid amounts of money on a PC though, that IS stupid! What's the point? Get out and do something constructive.christa wrote:wierd isn't it ~ at the beginning of the week a colleague was asking my advice on where to dig her garden up to plant vegetables , the next day she's telling me how she just spent ?1300 booking flights for a ski-ing holiday next year ~ she would have cancelled but felt she couldn't let her friends down.
Wonder how much she'll need to save for the surcharges by the time she comes to fly !christa wrote:wierd isn't it ~ at the beginning of the week a colleague was asking my advice on where to dig her garden up to plant vegetables , the next day she's telling me how she just spent ?1300 booking flights for a ski-ing holiday next year ~ she would have cancelled but felt she couldn't let her friends down.
