The Fuel Protest site "Less Tax On Fuel" has an article about Peak Oil. Written by Tully Wakeman & a little bit from myself.

They don't just have an article, they've linked it from the front page!!!! Doesn't it undermine their chosen course of action a little?

Now they appear to have fully embraced the notion of PO, surely the next logical step is to er.. scrap their website and relaunch it as moretaxonfuel.co.uk ?

They could use their position to put pressure on the Govt regarding PO.

If the Govt started using oil revenue to create a less oil dependent infrastructure, then every time the price of oil goes up we would have more money going into preparing the country.

Excellent article, well done!

One minor point, going from $20 to $70 is not a 250% but a 350% (although the increase alone is by 250%).

To illustrate the recent upsurge in prices, it may be better to use the price from 18 months ago: ?25 and talk about increase to 280% over 18 months.

Also, whilst the long term predictions for 2030 and 2050 may be right in terms of the energy available, there is probably too little emphasis on the chaos, panic, disturbances and even violence that will accompany the change.

On their forums, we need to be more careful with "steering" them instead of browbeating them with a sledgehammer.

Their take on Global Warming is not at all encouraging. I think it's quite telling how, on FTW, Global Warming articles are appearing increasingly frequently.
