End of the World? Ah, now that's Gary Moore's most excellent Corridors of Power album, 1983.

There is only tomorrow,
nothing but sorrow waiting for you.
Don't look for any mysteries,
it's only history we're passing through.

The threat from the east
growing stronger with each passing hour.
All systems are failing,
and talks with the west have turned sour.

The leaders are waiting for blood on their hands,
playing with weapons they don't understand.
Could it be this time we'll see the end of the world?

Each day brings a new danger,
love is a stranger we used to know.
Outside, the sun goes on rising.
But we're realizing there's not long to go.

The storm clouds are forming,
take heed of the warning to come.
The Kremlin has told every nation
there's no place to run.

The leaders are waiting for blood on their hands,
playing with weapons they don't understand.
Could it be this time we'll see the end of the world?

I want to drain the coal resources in America
And foreign sources of crude oil.
I'm a weapon of mass destruction
I'm a brutal dictator
And I'm evil

Very funny, might create some mischief and havoc for Vortex, might not even need bribing. Do you think he would be cross? (moderately cross I can deal with, very cross - ummm - not so sure).
Just a thought but meddling in Vortex's business might be fun for now but it might back fire on me, what d'a think?!

Not sure that I need such trouble what with me now being such a vip etc, etc......
Given the recent escalation in mischief since this thread was moved to the General Discussion area (dunno who's bright idea that was), can I now put in a request for it to be moved back to the Suggestion Box or somewhere similar where Vortex is less likely to stumble on it?!

Some great suggestions on here! It never ceases to amaze me how passionate people are about music.

Did anyone mention:
"Run to the Hills" Iron Maiden
"End of the world as we know it" REM
"Imagine" John Lennon

Wow Andy, have you had a chance to play your piece at any dance venues and did anyone know what a caesar salad was? I've heard Kunstler's reference to it (the 3000 mile version) often but never actually bothered to find out what it is. Now I know: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesar_salad

They probably taste good, if they haven't been trucked across a continent!

The US and UK military machine is currently 'engaged' in Iraq because of our thirst for oil. Here's a song by Richard Thompson looking at the futile situation from a soldiers' perspective.

Dad's Gonna Kill Me (Dad=Slang for Baghdad)

Out in the desert there?s a soldier lying dead
Vultures pecking the eyes out of his head
Another day that could have been me there instead
Nobody loves me here
Nobody loves me here

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me
Dad?s Gonna Kill Me

You hit the booby trap and you?re in pieces
With every bullet your risk increases
Old Ali Baba, he?s a different species
Nobody loves me here
Nobody loves me here

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me
Dad?s Gonna Kill Me

I?m dead meat in my HumV Frankenstein
I hit the road block, God knows I never hit the mine
The dice rolled and I got lucky this time

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me
Dad?s Gonna Kill Me

I?ve got a wife, a kid, another on the way
I might get home if I can live through today
Before I came out here I never used to pray
Nobody loves me here
Nobody loves me here

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me

Dad?s in a bad mood, Dad?s got the blues
It?s someone else?s mess that I didn?t choose
At least we?re winning on the Fox Evening News
Nobody loves me here

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me
Dad?s Gonna Kill Me

Dawn Patrol went out and didn?t come back
Hug the wire and pray like I told you, Mac
Or they?ll be shovelling bits of you into a sack

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me.

And who?s that stranger walking in my dreams
And whose that stranger cast a shadow ?cross my heart
And who?s that stranger, I dare speak his name
Must be old Death a-walking
Must be old Death a-walking

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me

7 muzzle monkeys standing in a row
Standing waiting for The Sandbox to blow
Sitting targets in the wild west show

Nobody loves me here

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me

Another angel got his wings this week
Charbroiled with his own Willie Pete
Nobody?s dying if you speak double-speak

Dad?s Gonna Kill Me

Only just finished the track so not had a chance to play it out yet. I'm getting some proper CDs done of my stuff soon, got some great artwork for the cover from legendary psychedelic artist John Hurford, and also a solar pyrographer from Canada who burns her art into wood using a magnifying glass and the sun!

Will then be sending it off to some 'green' festivals to see if I can get some gigs. Would be great to play it through the Croissant Neuf solar P.A. rig!

Something to aim for. I think "Powerswitch" is probably my most kicking track of all though - possibly quite rightly so. :)

Hey, that?s really good. I think somehow I might not be getting the full experience listening through headphones on my laptop in the office on a Friday morning though...
