Meanwhile back in the UK it looks as though the lockdown is in fact over.
Huge numbers have attended political rallies and protests, generally without social distancing.
Several raves have been well attended, without any social distancing. Such events were meant to be illegal, event before the lockdown.
Most businesses are about to re-open, and will expect most staff to attend work.

It's less tight than it was, but I would say most people I know locally are still in 'lockdown'. Here in Wales the deal is groups not exceeding 6, not indoors, 2m distances etc and this is being respected by many households. Wales is approaching this differently to England.
I can see both in the UK and the US that opening up will cause a spike in both cases and deaths. This will cause most governments to try to reinstall lockdowns only to find that people and business have endured all the lockdowns they can or will stand for and then things are going to get dicey. This latest set of protests and riots about police brutality in the USA may be just a start of what is to come.

Trump's problem is that he is too stupid and corrupt to even know that he has any dirty laundry in the first place. And as the all powerful President he can and will do what he wants anyway.
An area of the Chinese capital Beijing has been put under strict lockdown measures after the city's first coronavirus cases in more than 50 days.
The outbreak has been linked to the city's largest wholesale market.
A total of 45 people out of 517 tested at the Xinfadi market tested positive for Covid-19, a district official said. None were displaying symptoms.
None??
Have any gone on to display symptoms? Because if they haven't, which I will admit is highly unlikely, we should be spreading this version of the virus as much as we can. It could be as good as a vaccine.

You would have to be able to guarantee that I would get the correct version of covid though, LJ, before I would agree with you. So I would probably want it as a vaccine or similar
My local health board has said today that my region's r number is about 0.56 with 1 in 10,000 people who have covid-19. Of course, Scotland as a whole is still locked down tight. When asked whether the region should lift measures quicker, the usual suspects cited caution and worries about a 2nd wave.
