Real Covid 19 data

We are ruled by imbeciles or liars. Almost certainly both.

We're getting back to woodburner territory here as Dr Pam Popper has a PhD in Nutrition rather than being a MD so her opinion on the situation is just that, an opinion. She has no qualification in medicine or epidemiology.

That's a fair enough point. Not to worry. Enough of the mainstream scientific community are now progressively finding their spines again and growing numbers of them are beginning to call this bollocks out. You'd see more of them had they not been de-platformed from social media. I've personally seen at least two videos from medical staff criticizing the current situation removed from social media. I have heard of many others.

Or this?

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/N ... t3yrmnNep0
If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.

We keep reinventing the same angles every 100 pages or so - perhaps reflecting the high spam content on this thread. If you are taking lots of UK sunny walks/gardening you will get lots of Vit D. If you are the poor sods working eg LJ then high dose supplements will take a month or so to peak as it is fat soluble and will store all over your body. You should buy a lot from ebay as a prep, because if we fall out with China, who makes it? Also Vit C as woodburner would say. Best to get that from salad and veg. Minimal fruit for fifties fatties.

The best vit D presentation I have seen:

Vitamin D deficiency is being widely reported as a risk factor for coronavirus.
It would seem sensible for anyone who suffers from, or believes that that they may suffer from lack of vitamin D to take a supplement.

I am not aware of any evidence that vitamin D cures coronavirus.

One of the major sources of vitamin D is dairy products, those who avoid such foods may be at greater risk of deficiency.

Black people are at greater risk of vitamin D deficiency and some authorities have suggested that ALL black people in the UK should take a vitamin D supplement unless there is some good reason not to.

We are being lied to on a monstrous scale
The way Covid 19 deaths are being counted is a national scandal

Dying WITH the virus and dying FROM the virus are completely different. Which is why the numbers are not reliable.

“I can think of no time in my medical career when it has been more important to have accurate diagnosis of a disease, and understanding of precisely why patients have died of it. Yet very early on in the epidemic, rules surrounding death certification were changed — in ways that make the statistics unreliable. Guidance was issued which tends to reduce, rather than increase, referrals for autopsy.
