AE Not sure why you have such a bug up your bum about this thread. Did you start one of the contenders?AutomaticEarth wrote:Mods - can we please either lock this thread as it a duplicate of 'Migrant Watch, or merge this this thread with 'Migrant Watch'? Thanks.

AE started both the Migrant Watch and Jihad Watch threads.
Haven't you worked it out yet? He's a closet racist who's been drip feeding his particular brand of thinly disguised, low-intellect poison on this forum since he joined.
At least J2M, much as it pains me to say it, has the decency to come clean with his overtly racist remarks.

Havn't got a problem with two threads - we can use this one and lock the other, or continue with the other one. Just don't see the point of having two threads on the same topic.vtsnowedin wrote:AE Not sure why you have such a bug up your bum about this thread. A good example of an ad hominem attack.3rdRock wrote:AE started both the Migrant Watch and Jihad Watch threads.

More racist accusations - thought you'd have something better to say after disappearing for a while after you threw your rattle out the pram. How is having an anti-migrant bias being racist?
If you fancy being pro-jihadist, feel free to post as such on the tread, I won't stop you....
Same as the 'Migrant Watch' thread. Again, nothing stopping you posting stuff on that thread supporting any pro-immigration arguments.
Last but not least, your thread concerns just the migrant crisis wrt the EU, the original thread was meant to cover all aspects of migration around the world, not just Europe, hence my previous comments about two separate threads.

Should we start an "anyone who is pro mass immigration is pro Jihadist and supports the murder of innocent people in the west" meme going. No because it is ridiculous! Just as ridiculous as saying that anyone who is against mass immigration is a racist.
Mind you it could be said that anyone who calls someone a racist for being against mass immigration is either short of the wherewithall to make a proper argument for their proposition or just too bone idle to think about a decent argument!

Exactly. 3rdRock's post was very poor. I was only saying that we need to keep to the threads we have already Ken. The fact he/she has been away for weeks and suddenly comes back with that kind of abuse is extraordinary. He/she needs to go and spew his/her hate elsewhere on other forums.kenneal - lagger wrote:Should we start an "anyone who is pro mass immigration is pro Jihadist and supports the murder of innocent people in the west" meme going. Osbourne is right to encourage the right kind of immigration to the UK. ie highly skilled immigrants, the kind I work with everyday. However, we don't need 300k plus immigrants that are low skilled. We can train our young people to do these jobs. Unless, of course, you want these people to be out of work forever.

I see no justificatioin for that accusation. The views being expressed by AE about immigration are roughly in line with the views of most of the people who post regularly on this board. I'm afraid the days when people could get away with accusing anybody and everybody who is opposed to mass immigration of low-skilled refugees/migrants of closet racism are well and truly over. This is about sustainability, not race. The argument has been spelled out over and over again, but here it is one more time:3rdRock wrote:AE started both the Migrant Watch and Jihad Watch threads.

(1) the migrant crisis is not a temporary phenomenon caused by one war or one natural disaster. Rather, it is the start of a new, long-term reality, because the fundamental underlying causes are overpopulation, resource depletion and climate change, all of which are destined to get much, much worse.
(2) There are already many millions more people living in the UK than can be sustainably supported without importing vast amounts of food and energy.
(3) Therefore, sooner or later, and preferably sooner, we have to start seriously limiting the numbers of people allowed in, regardless of their circumstances. Only skilled individuals and their immediate family should be allowed in.
No racism in there, 3rd Rock. You don't need to search for a hidden motive when the declared motive is as real as that one.
And finally, the fact that they want to come to Britain is ENTIRELY economically motivated. There are parts of eastern Europe - Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, etc... - where the population has been falling for years and the population density isn't even half of that in the UK. Why is that? Because rural Bulgarians and Poles have spent the last decade leaving the areas they grew up in because of restricted economic opportunities, and moving to urban areas in their own countries or other EU countries like the UK. So why the F**K should we be accepting migrants into the UK who could perfectly SAFELY live in rural Bulgaria?
Here's the truth, 3rd Rock: they want to come here because they think the streets of Berlin, Stockholm and London are paved with gold. They want to come here because they envy what's left of our standard of living and feel like they are entitled to their share. Well, guess what. THEY AREN'T.
There is only one European nation where the idealistic dreamers are still in charge, and that is Germany. But Merkel is in deep political trouble because of her stance on this, and is only surviving as the German leader because there is nobody sensible to replace her. It is only a matter of time before the Germans are forced to close their borders too, and the fences are already going up all over Europe in anticipation of that happening.
Europe really is being torn apart by this crisis, and the only way to hold it together is to mount a co-ordinated defence of European borders. We must help the Greeks and Italians to prevent migrants from entering their territory, and I'm afraid the unfortunate truth is that this is likely to end up the way it has ended up for the Australians.
Not racism. This is about self-preservation. It is about people in the UK's right to fight for a future UK that is fit for their children to live in.
