I know that in very dangerous places amish have teamed up with mormans who certainly are not pacifists, and the mormans have defended them .

I guess they need something to occupy them on the long dark winter's nights with no TV or Xbox. Maybe that's where the population growth is coming from!

A very good book that you should read is called "Shall the religious inherit the earth?". I think it concludes that they wont.

The growth of the Amish is spectacular. I think in 1900 they were about 5000 of them. Now around a quarter million I believe.

Regarding the Mormons I believe the numbers are around 7 million in the US up from about 100,000 in 1900. I understand their numbers could be around 80 million in 2100 on present growth rates.

I think both groups will do very well in the event of a collapse and prepping is actually part of Mormon doctrine.
