As the Advert says, Candy, "Marmite; you either love it or you hate it."

I claimed asylum from Marmite years ago.

Some time ago the 'big light' in the bathroom failed, I replaced the fitting but it still doesn't work and I'm not sure why. So since then I have used just LEDs and candles in there, which is fine, and especially nice when having a soak.
You check the switch? I had exactly this problem the other day. Coz I'm a lazy twat I fixed it up to 'always on' (rather than just buying a new switch!!) and took the bulb out when I went out... Till my dad janked the cord so hard he puled it out the wall.

Andy, don't junk the toaster.. you might still want to make toast in the summer!

RC - I'm with you. Only foreign types don't like marmite. I always take a supply when going into barbarian territory (France)

I spoke too soon about the dishwasher, apparently it is beyond economic repair!

Looks like my brief spell with a dishwasher is over. Once I get rid of it, I'll be left with quite a useful space! I wonder what I should put in it.

I think I might even take JohnB's advice, take out all the shelves and turn it into a storage cupboard. That would save me even having to get rid of it.

Do you grow food? If so you can never have enough freezer space.

Never got on with dishwashers myself. Just seems to overcomplicate something which was in actual fact very simple.

That did occur to me but I barely use the freezer space in my fridge freezer. Plus the socket for the dishwasher is on the kitchen ring main not the one backed up by batteries, so not much use for emergency storage.

No, I think I might just keep logs in it actually, or bottles of wine or something.

I think it might end up as storage space for the 5 gallons of scrumpy I have in a vat, once I've bottled it all!! I've nowhere else to put it, that's for sure!!

Won't your visitors be a bit worried about the quality if you get your scrumpy out of the dishwasher?
