Re: Migrant watch (merged topic)

We'll just have to send all illegal migrants straight up to Scotland then and let them welcome them. Most of that country is empty after all.

I just hope that police in the rest of the UK don't capitulate in the face of a violent mob. That way lies anarchy

Re: Brexit Watch

I agree with increasing our generation capacity to make us self sufficient and I think we should build an interconnector to the Channel Islands to bring them into the British Isles and not be reliant upon "Perfidious France". We should also have some hydrogen as well as other storage so we...

Bloody hell!! I actually agree with Tony Bleh for once.!

This excerpt from this article is something sensible from Bleh that I can agree with. People do not like their country, their flag or their history being disrespected,' he said. 'The left always gets confused by this sentiment and assume this means people support everything their country has done or...

Re: New coronavirus in/from China

............... Yes I would be fascinated to hear a convincing explanation why Mark's comments are rubbish. ..... The rubbish that I was quoting was the attribution to Adam by Mark of the following thought process. Yes, those dreadfully awful Europeans...... nothing like our superior British H&...

Re: Brexit Watch

I'm sorry, Mark, if I gave the impression that I included you along with Remainers but this requirement for instant gratification is a problem for the whole world. The EU insisted that we couldn't make any alternative trade arrangements before we had left so there was bound to be a lag in the benefi...

Re: Brexit Watch

I would be very interested to hear a convincing description of just what are the benefits that Brexit has delivered so far. We haven't been out of the EU for six months yet and you are expecting "instant gratification", Mark, and most other Remainers are the same come to that. Leaving the...

Re: Labour Party Watch

I've just been having a discussion on the Fracking Hell UK Facebook page about the problems for climate mitigation and generally caused by immigration. At least I was trying to have a discussion but an investigative journalist by the name of Paddy McGuffin and a chap called Martin both kept calling ...

Re: Labour Party Watch

A year ago people were wondering if the Tory Party would split. No talk of that now! A year truly is "a long time in politics."

Re: Hitachi new trains fiasco.

There must be a shortage of welders. Maybe that's because they are all looking for cracks in trains. Perhaps they ought to put some of the welders on repairing the cracks already found and some to looking for more cracks. I would hate to see Hitachi's bill for all this. Maybe we can get a free nucle...

That would be our situation in effect so until cheap, fast, local charging is available we will be using petrol and diesel engines in this household I'm afraid.

Re: How do we survive Chinese manufacturing technology ?

I don't see a problem with the Chinese owning British companies per se but the problem comes with the intellectual property of those companies or if the Chinese start shipping factories and their equipment back to China. If Rolls Royce Aero Engines was bought by China then we would have a problem al...

New Zealand would do me as I can go out to watch rugby there and their covid rates, population density and isolation are good enough for me.

Re: Labour Party Watch

No one knows where they stand on the EU. I think that the London/South East centric, liberal elite that run the Labour Party are definitely of the Remain persuasion and the rest of the party knows that. Our local Labour Party is definitely Remain/Rejoin orientated. Any one thinking of rejoining the...

Re: Interesting doomer TV show, from USA.

According to this article, sea level rises could be up to 30% greater than previously thought due to earth rebound as the weight of the ice is lifted off Antarctica and, presumably Greenland.
