..........life will be more real! Many people caught in survival situation say that at that point they never felt so alive. It's each individuals choice whether they go for quantity or quality and in the end the result is inevitable, but in between we'll have lots of opportunities to choose either p...

Thanks for that Yep, we're talking about the same thing. A long production plateau as we come up against the system constraints, and by the time new refineries come on line (if they're ever built) it'll be too late. One thing could change this however, many analysts talk about an event that will kic...

At least there will be plenty of room to queue. We won't need the car park to park our cars any more. I could see the car park becoming the focal point of the community with people buying, selling and bartering while they're waitng for the next shipment of food to be delivered. My work involves orga...

Also, the markets are working on two assumptions:- 1 - Analysts (including peak oilers) say that providing depletion doesn't accelerate speed up 1 million barrels per day ...

Take a guess...

Hiya, It's not just gold that's gone up (the highest level in 26 years), copper, silver and other commodities are shooting up as well, as investors smell a crisis and switch from paper dollars. To make things worse the escalating prices of commodities are leading to spiralling costs in exploration a...

Hi Tess / Joe, Thanks for the info & the invite. Sadly I can't make the 24th as it's my daughters birthday, I'll probably be attending a screening of Ice Age 2!. I'd be interested in other events though. The Cuba situation is an interesting one though, and it has some valuable lessons for a smal...

Hi everyone, I'm from Halifax. I came across peak oil six months ago & since then I've made it my business to get 'oiled up!' It'd be great to speak to other individuals and groups in Yorkshire - at least you won't think I'm bonkers like everyone else I've spoken to (well, hopefully not!). I'm n...
