I hear what you're saying, I've learnt to try and avoid specific predictions but I think 'this year' is vague enough and probably accurate enough. The "Dollar Crisis" book from 4 years ago just goes to highlight how bad things really are - each day that passes the world gets further from s...

Suggesting that all the petro-dollars will be moved elsewhere and everyone's watching to see when: http://www.bloomberg.com/avp/avp.asxx?clip=mms://media2.bloomberg.com/cache/vLrKovUH9gMY.asf Is the US going to be Zimba...

...I am not convinced that a price crash, worse than 1988-95, is definitely on the cards. The memory of the last crash is still fresh in the politicians' minds and they will inflate the problem away, rather than risk a crash, as the lesser of two evils. Clearly, the government can't control how thi...

It's in full swing down again...can't see anything specific, I wonder if there are more rumours about a hedge fund going pop. Apparently that was one of the things that got everything going yesterday...FTSE down 140!

North Sea depletion and subsequent reliance on imports will pretty much double our current trade deficit within a decade. Supporting a larger trade deficit will need higher interest rates to attract more foreign money. And if / when lots of hedge funds start going pop on the back of the current mes...

http://www.houseweb.co.uk/house/market/irgraph2007.gif It's happened before so don't rule anything out! I think Snow was hinting at if there's real run on Sterling which could happen if the Yen really unwinds, the BoE might try and protect it by putting up interest rates. I must admit I don't know ...

Surely now people with BTL properties have go...
