Let me stress that these volume numbers aren't observed data, but are calculated using the Pan-Arctic Ice Ocean Modeling and Assimilation System (PIOMAS, Zhang and Rothrock, 2003). The real numbers probably aren't off by much, and I base this on some snippets of information like the ice thickness m...

Sea ice volume confirmed at record low. Now fallen by 65% from long term average value (in about 1995) for August. At this rate, August sea ice will disappear altogether in a decade. Hahahaha.. do you REALLY belive that? I often wonder whats actually going on.. according to some scientists global w...

That's what the graph I posted says. Denmark capacity factor 24% http://www.bwea.com/ref/capacityfactors.html or http://rmschneider.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/denmark_wind_loadfactor_1990-2009_timeseries.png http://rmschneider.wordpress.com/2010/12/02/danish-wind-generation-load-factors-1990-2009/...

I have been investigating wind power in Denmark as I've heard many comments like ...they are moving away from wind power. ..they have higher carbon intensity than other countries with less wind power First, we got the message that the Danish government now aims for carbon free electricty by 2050, s...

Interesting.. I often wondered about the mechanics of extracting power from the wind.. With enough wind turbines taking power out of the wind, what actually happens to the now power depleated wind? Also we know apparantly that wind energy can be converted to electrical or mechanical power..wind turb...

I do often wonder about why there is such a drive towards wind power... Timms didn’t understand the difference between installed capacity and actual production.. Prescott..well enough said.. The renewables Advisory Board..well with 16 out of the 18 members with direct financial links to wind energy ...
