Well - it had to happen somethime - new digital meter

I had my solar system fitted in August 2009 and immediately noticed the old meter going backwards. I ticked the box on the paperwork to say that the meter was going backwards. Since then, most of the time I have been unable to enter my electricity meter readings online as it would be less than the t...

It was strange reading this thread today and the comments others have made. When I looked out the kitchen window this morning, there was a wood pigeon sitting on top of my cherry tree - he's usually sitting under it waiting for smaller birds to spill stuff out of the seed feeders hanging on the bran...

The company who installed my solar system two years ago used Sharp panels. I remember being pleased that Sharp was a brand which I recognised.

My brother is a pensioner living in a council bungalow and looking forward to having solar panels installed by his council. He is not well off and will benefit by the cheap/free electricity. Anyone without savings surely had the possibility of a loan at a competitive rate and then the solar panels w...

Wow, I am by no means rich. I just know an investment when I see one. As a tax-payer, I subsidise people much poorer than I am via their Income support, child benefit etc. but I do not begrudge it at all. That's the way life is. I'm sorry you feel the way you do.

It's just a pity for firms and their customers that it took so long to get a decision on this. My neighbours will be very pleased with this news as they just had their installation a couple of weeks ago.

We just hosed our panels down this morning and our inverter was reaching 3010w today - higher than last July. We've already made as much as the equivalent quarter from last year with 4 weeks to go before the next reading. I hope it lasts.

Sorry to hear that. We only had an inch of snow last weekend so our panels are clear but the skies are not - it's murky here now.

Lovely sunshine

I just wanted to repeat how pleased I am with my solar panel system. The panels were covered with a foot of snow for 3-4 weeks last winter and we had very poor production. This January and so far this February, we are averaging 10 KwH per day on a 3.52 kWp system which is amazing after last years ef...

Thank Goodness for the common sense attitude which has stopped this arrogant government from just bullying their way through the process without any consultaion or forethought.

They've all gone home without a decision being made!
Thanks for the info - I've been searching the net for an update without success.

The water is back to normal now but then we also just had a power cut for a few hours. We didn't bother with the generator but we did have heating via a calor gas heater & a hot drink via a camping stove & kettle. We also had the choice of reading or listening to wind-up/solar radio. A few y...
