Glad I've just been paid. Time for a salary-busting ASDA order, methinks.

Too ruddy right. I'm famished. A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

I could tell you.... but then I'd have to kill you. Why not go on this course? http://www.sassurvival.co.uk/euroedit/e ... _woods.php

P.S. I am not being paid to promote SAS Suvival courses (said with hands tied firmly behind back and sock stuffed in mouth):

I am starting to feel that my SAS training is going to come in handy sooner than I thought. Remember folks, if you have no weapon handy, go for one of the following options: tangle, dangle, mangle or strangle!

Congrats Adam!

My daughter started primary school today. Seems a blink of an eye that she was a tiny tot like your little lad. We've probably got enough kids between us to start up a Powerswitch group for under sixteens. Power rangers? (with solar powered rechargeable battery packs, obviously!)

Fubar,

Not less concerned. I couldn't be more concerned. Just less panic stricken! Like I said, I've got my head round various possible scenarios and I'm now in 'right then, let's get on with it (whatever it turns out to be)' mode.

The Long Descent by John Greer

Just received this from a contact (maybe one to read if you've just read The Long Emergency and are suffering from depression): THE LONG DESCENT John Michael Greer's new book The Long Descent is a welcome antidote to the armageddonism that often accompanies peak oil discussions. "The decline of...

Oh dear, I've just googled 'MILF' and up popped a rather alarming website which has quite frankly put me off my tea. These people don't look like any of the mothers I bump into by the swings. I now have an inferiority complex.

Is anyone prepared to name names re their solar (water) systems? I am being bombarded with 'offers' on a weekly basis and now the new windows and woodburner are in , solar is next on my list (once I've saved up). I am not a techie so not looking for anything complicated - just a simple, effective, P...

Fubar, it's almost two years to the day that my colleague referred me to LATOC and my world view shifted overnight. Following Kubler-Ross's 'Five stages of grief' model, I was in Denial (1)for a couple of paragraphs of Savinar's blurb but since his argument seemed compelling this rapidly turned to A...

Au contraire. There is now growing concern about imminent shortages of Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Glucono Delta Lactone, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose and Methylparaben. Check your facts, MacG. Peak Jelly is wobbling towards you more quickly than you think. Thankfully, LATOC has some great recipes f...

Look out! MacG is sending the Bounty hunters to come and get you. Quick, jump in your bright red Ferrero and hit the gas! Oh booger, the tyre's burst. Look's like you've got a large Thorntons stuck in it. Now the car's as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Yup, and my nana had about 200 bars of soap stashed alongside the scores of rolls of toilet paper. In fact, on her death, her estate largely comprised bog roll and soap. Cheers nana!
