I voted 'No' on the ban... I've learned a lot about oil & energy from RGR's posts on various forums over the last 4 years or so, even if it does sometimes require researching whatever he makes references to. I'm quite able to gloss over his posts whenever I don't think they're useful.

I'm happy to accept their decline rates are faulty. Can you offer some more accurate ones that will give us a better idea of when we are more likely to see consistent global declines?

You're confusing EROEI with efficiency - power plants may well be 35% efficient, but may have an EROEI of 20 (provides 20 times more energy over its lifetime than was consumed building/maintaining/decommissioning it). Since I rent, and have no intention of even trying to buy a house (or ability to afford one) until prices come down much more, there is really little I can do one way or another.

I'd rather have targetted ads that I have some small chance of being interested in, than completely irrelevant ones that I put up with merely because I know many of the free services I use need their income.
