Completed the poll.

Quite thought provoking questions with a reasonable coverage of the salient issues.

Interpretation will be a statisticians wet dream!

Well they've gone up 25ish% since rock bottom of $30something. What's going on?

Obama to regulate 'pollutant' CO2

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8004975.stm US President doesn't make an incredibly ignorant decision. Obama makes me realise how cynical I've become over the last 8 years. His ability to deliver remains unproved but the guy gives me hope and shows how inured we've become to stupid fuckers runn...

Oh if we're talking wild food I love the autumn crop of blackberries and sloes round here - and my favourite being crab apples. But I also meant that one should find out what grows well on your soil by trial & error and grow to your strengths. However that is tricky because you may just have a g...

So far the seeds that I planted (including broad beans, ages ago) have done absolutely nowt. Outdoor temps are about 4 (night) - 10 (day). I wonder if they're still just waiting. Our broad beans have just come up - planted 7 weeks ago (just before we had all the snow) seeds like that have their own...

I am a complete dunce about all this stuff but I must recommend this blog http://cynicuseconomicus.blogspot.com/ I don't know what credentials Cynicus Economicus has, but his examples are clear and he does his best to explain the consequences of money printing on the domestic economy and on the stat...

If losing 90% of the creatures that appear in the fossil record is your idea of incredibly resistant I'd rather not be part of it. Absolutely. My point was that we are precipitating a mass extinction (I'm not sure of the exact definition of such an event e.g. percentage of species made extinct over...

Agreed, good points Billhook, no reason for complacency. However it does confirm something I've often suspected, and that is that nature is maybe more resilient than she is sometimes given credit for, and will take any opportunity which is presented to her when it comes to adaptation and survival. ...

Well; strolling round the mall at Cribbs Causeway I see about 60% of the shops are almost identical clothes emporiums selling poorly made crap from China. There's one bookshop (Waterstones), one music shop (HMV) and virtually nothing of use for sale. I know I'm looking in the wrong place for useful ...
